Frequently asked questions.

How do I care for my candle and make it last?

First thing is first - keep your wick trimmed! The first burn is key. Avoid extinguishing the candle until the wax pool expands to the outer edge of the jar. When you blow out the first burn, let it set on a level surface. Most burn problems (wick won’t light, flame too high etc.) can be solved by trimming your wick!

You can also reuse your jar. After removing the wick base, heat soy jars in microwave and wipe away excess wax. Wash with soap and water. You can also pour boiling water into the vessel and wait for the left over wax to harden on the top of the water.

What’s the best way to trim my wick?

You can either use a wick trimmer, toe nail clippers, or just an old fashioned pinch of your finger on a burned wick. Be sure to trim your wick to about 1/8 of an inch before each burn for the best results. If it looks too short it is just right!

When will you ship?

After you order, please allow 3-5 business days for your order to be processed and shipped from Boston with love. We are a small operation and take pride on careful attention to detail. We are unable to replace missing or stolen packages, as USPS has possession of your order, the delivery status is no longer within our control.

If you are local you can pick up your order at our retail location on Saturdays. Please select local pick up at check out. We will email you to arrange a pick up window. Pick up orders still require a 3 business day processing time.

What is your refund policy?

All sales of candles, soaps and hats are final. As a small operation, we want our customers to love their candles as much as we love burning ours. We urge you to email us at contact@tripledeckercandleco.com if your experience was less than stellar, and we will work with you to make it right!

Why does my candle surface change texture after it burns?

After burning and cooling, the surface of your soy candle will appear rough and sometimes bumpy. This is the texture of natural soy after burn. If you have a soy candle that remains smooth and creamy after burning, it is not all natural soy.

Candle wax may also slightly discolor after burning and cooling. This is because there is no ivory or white dye used in our candles. This is most prevalent with fragrances containing natural ingredients such as cinnamon or vanillin.
